This restaurant has always been one of my absolute favorites. This place has been around since I was just a kid, and I’m in my mid forties. My favorite dish is the lasagna. I have always said it’s about the best lasagna I have ever had, but that’s a personal preference I guess, because I took a friend there a few weeks ago, he tried it, hated it, sent it back, and got the BBQ sandwich. I have had the BBQ, and yes it was excellent, but no where near what I would call the best BBQ I’ve ever had.

Overall, this is a excellent place to dine, especially if you want great food at budget prices with a great atmosphere. There are two dining areas; the main dining area is adequate sized covered deck over looking the Chattahoochee River, where you can watch and mingle with the tubers, and the other dining area is inside with air conditioning. They do serve drinks and beer, and the menu is moderately priced.

The atmosphere is relatively mild, not very loud, somewhat romantic, and doesn’t really have the party sports bar feel like you have at places Viele Margaritas on the river. It’s a perfect spot to take a date, or if you want a more family atmosphere and still want the river deck dining experience without breaking the bank. Parking is available, and I have never gone there without being able to find a parking place right at the entrance. There is no live entertainment, and that does help keep the tone down some. There is seldom a wait for a table on the river, and when there is, I’ve never waited more than about ten minutes.

If you want to try something that will wake up the taste buds, and has a good twist of taste, you must try the German Potato’s. I tried them, and my taste buds weren’t quite prepared for the unique taste. The German Potato’s for me were a delightful experiment in taste, but not sure if I could eat a lot of them.
