Helen Georgia - Flea Market
This
is the one and only flea market in Helen, Ga. Years ago, this flea market
was almost a small bustling city within itself, but over the years has
become smaller and smaller, and less like a really good flea market.
Essentially the actual flea market part is quite small, consisting of
very few flea market items, but the attraction is still worth noting.
At the flea markets location, they offer
tubing, a the Helen Ga Monster
Truck Ride attraction, a small actual flea market area, a large
pot boiling fresh boiled peanuts daily, helicopter rides, and a small
shop offering a ton of jams, jellies, ciders, and food items personally
made and packaged on site by Merle the flea markets owner. There is
no charge for parking, and generally it's just a neat spot to hang out
for a little while.
There are also a handful of old time country
relics lying around that i'm not even sure are for sale, but I guess
everything has it's price, so if you find something you can't live witout,
I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Again,
the Helen Georgia Flea Market area is not what it was years ago, but
it's a decent little spot to visit, shop, and kill a few hours.
If you like trout fishing, grab your pole,
and fish in the deep hole located directly behind the flea market, there
is always a opportunity to land a monster here, and the sign over the
entrance area tends to run most anglers off at a glance, because it
says no fishing, but then it says in small print during certain hours.
(Kind of tricky)...
