Ok, this is the best and only BBQ spot I know of in or near Helen Georgia. The upside to this joint is the food is excellent, the down side, is that there is no indoor dining. The sign clearly states, get your food, and get out. No indoor dining can be near brutal on a scorching hot summer day, but the outdoor picnic tables with the large umbrellas do offer some shady relief .

I know of people that will actually drive as far away as Stone Mountain Georgia just to eat at North Georgia BBQ, so that should tell you something about how good this BBQ is. If you’re just stopping in for something under $5.00, bring cash. The minimum on any credit or debit card is $5.00.

Being the adventurer I am, I had to break down and try the Pig Melt sandwich. Don’t let the name kill the chance to taste this. I am in my mid forty’s, and have to say I have added the Pig Melt Sandwich to my list of favorite foods.

You can also purchase ribs by the ½ rack, full rack, or chopped. If you really have an achin for some excellent BBQ, but don’t want to eat outside in the heat, then get it to go, and take it back to eat in your air conditioned room.

The BBQ pork is choice and juicy, and can compete against any award winning BBQ around. This is a great spot to eat at after coming off the river tubing with the Cool River Tubers. North Georgia BBQ is located right next door to where the cool river tubing adventure ends, so get out, dry off, and take a short walk across the street grab a bag full of BBQ sandwiches, take them to your riverside picnic table, and enjoy a awesome BBQ lunch sure to take away those hunger pains from a long tubing adventure through Helen Georgia.
