Well it’s hard to argue about how good this food is considering they have been serving it up for forty years. I mean what even comes close to that reputation for an independent small non-chain, non franchised little hamburger joint other than the Varsity in Atlanta?

There is a reason they are still serving food after forty years, the food is excellent. I can’t tell you how many times I passed right by this place on my way to Helen Georgia, and never even gave stopping to try it out a second thought. Now that I’ve tried it, it is a regular stop on my way to Helen Georgia.

There are few hamburgers that I have ever tried that even come close to these. Again think about it, forty years in the making. This place is a local jewel. The hamburger has that right off the grill excellent fresh juicy taste; no dry cheap ground beef taste here.

Yonah Burger boasts a small independent hole in the wall feel, but extremely clean and modern inside. To top it off, right from your table you get a nice mountain view. I have made this a regular stop where I will sit, eat a hamburger with awesome steaming hot French fries, and plan my Helen Georgia weekend.

Yonah Burger is located approximately ten minutes outside of Helen Georgia on your right hand side going towards Cleveland Georgia. If you don’t stop on your way to Helen Georgia, it’s well worth the short ten minute scenic ride to eat there.

Yonah Burger also has excellent breakfast biscuits that they serve till 11:00 every morning. The breakfast is not really worth the drive from Helen Georgia, but if your on your way, your better off driving five more minutes, and eating breakfast at Wendell’s unless you are looking for a quick cheap fast food breakfast, or if it’s on a day when Wendell’s is closed which is Monday and Tuesday.

Even if you aren’t real hungry when passing by, at the very least you need to stop in, and grab one of their famous homemade fried apple or peach pies to take with you for a later snack. They go down real good with a glass of fresh milk.
